HISTORY OF BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU
Jiu Jitsu, a classical Japanese martial art, has evolved over nearly two millennia, focusing on a wide array of techniques including joint locks, punches, kicks, throws, and chokes. The discipline spread to China and other Asian countries, eventually reaching Brazil where it evolved into Brazilian Jiu Jitsu through the efforts of Mitsuyo Maeda and the Gracie family.
